WritersAdmin
A freelancing marketplace where money is never the risk — orders, escrow, writer wallets and quality tooling in one platform.
The brief
Academic and content writing is a real economy in Kenya, but most of it runs on WhatsApp and crossed fingers. Employers risk paying for nothing; writers risk working for free.
WritersAdmin formalises it: employers post orders and fund escrow, writers claim and deliver, payment releases on approval. Both sides finally have a system instead of a chat thread.
What I built
- Order marketplace — employers post briefs with budgets and deadlines; writers claim or bid.
- Escrow payments — funds held until the employer approves delivery, then released to the writer's wallet.
- Writer wallets — earnings ledger, payout requests and transaction history.
- File delivery — work uploads with version tracking and revision requests.
- Plagiarism reports — originality checking attached to delivered orders.
- Disputes & moderation — structured resolution flow with admin arbitration.
- Dashboards — separate employer, writer and admin views of the same order pipeline.
Under the hood
The heart is a double-entry ledger: employer deposits, escrow holds and writer payouts are all balance movements, never loose flags on an order row. That makes disputes auditable and payouts provably correct.
Where it is now
WritersAdmin is in production moving real money between employers and writers. Marketplaces are the hardest thing to build solo — this one handles discovery, escrow, delivery and payouts end-to-end.
