WotSap
WhatsApp is where Kenyan customers actually are. WotSap turns the WhatsApp Business API into a full marketing and support machine.
The brief
Every Kenyan business runs on WhatsApp, but the official Business API is built for developers, not shop owners. WotSap wraps it in a product a marketing team can actually use.
I built the platform end-to-end: API integration, campaign tooling, AI-powered chatbots, and multi-seat workspaces — so a business goes from "one phone in the shop" to an organised WhatsApp operation.
What I built
- WhatsApp Business API integration — verified numbers, template management and approval tracking.
- AI chatbots — automated replies, qualification flows and handoff to human agents.
- Campaign scheduling — bulk sends to segmented lists with delivery and read tracking.
- Verified lead collection — opt-in flows that build compliant contact lists.
- Team workspaces — multi-user inboxes, roles and assignment for support teams.
- Campaign analytics — delivery, reads, replies and conversions per campaign.
Under the hood
High-volume messaging needs queues everywhere: outbound campaigns, webhook ingestion and bot replies all flow through Redis workers so the API stays within rate limits and nothing is lost when Meta retries webhooks. Multi-tenant workspaces isolate each business's numbers, contacts and campaigns.
Where it is now
WotSap is live with teams running real campaigns. It's a good example of productising a raw API — the engineering is invisible, the value is immediate.
